  Analysts International
Overview
Although perhaps not widely known, Douglas Adams introduced the universal tool of translation to fans of the science fiction genre – the Babel Fish.  Much like the role of a business analyst, it may not be openly welcomed or understood at first, but quickly fits seamlessly into conversation and translates between two different languages – “business-ese” and system requirements.   And if one fish can do that – imagine what a school of fish can do. Leveraging a facilitated session and including a wider audience of stakeholders is a successful approach to deepen the level of detail and establish group consensus.  It builds relationships, understanding and momentum.  It enables the BA to translate between business events and system requirements.
Objectives
  • The Role of the Business Analyst as a Translator
  • Advantages of Facilitated Sessions
  • Who Should Attend a Session
  • Facilitation Techniques
  • Documentation Considerations
Presenter
Jeanette Clark, PMP, has worked within the Information Systems industry in excess of twenty years and has excelled in Project/Program Management and Strategic Business Planning Services in the public sector.  Ms. Clark, of Analysts International, is currently working with a variety of State of Michigan Agencies related to business process analysis, requirements documentation and methodology development.  She was involved in projects that have contributed to State of Michigan requirements documentation standards as well as finalists for Computer World awards.

Your Quick Certification Guide

Are you looking to take your career to the next level?  Earn the Certified Business Analysis Profession (CBAPTM) designation required by many top employers!

At the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), we are dedicated to the development and maintenance of standards for the practice of Business Analysis, and for the certification and recognition of practitioners. We are the first organization to offer formal certification for Business Analysis Professionals.

The IIBA has created the Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP™), a designation awarded to candidates who have successfully demonstrated their expertise in this field. This is done by detailing hands-on work experience in business analysis through the CBAP application process, and passing the IIBA CBAP examination.

Certified Business Analysis Professionals are experts in identifying the business needs of an organization in order to determine the best solutions, a role that is increasingly seen as a vital component of any successful project. More and more companies are recognizing the CBAP designation and the value and expertise that these professionals bring to their organizations.

Want to learn more?  You can find out how to apply for the test, where to take the test, the exam schedule, what to study, and much, much more!  Please click here to visit the IIBA site.
